Chelsea are among the clubs in the picture to sign Lille star Jonathan David.

The striker has starred for the Ligue 1 side since joining them from KRC Genk in 2020. He’s scored 11 goals and registered six assists from 27 games this season and his fine form has seen him draw the attention of top clubs, including Chelsea.

That’s according to Téléfoot, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update on this case.

It’s claimed Chelsea, AC Milan, Napoli and Atlético Madrid are all ‘closely following’ the 24-year-old and that’s all they have to say about these four clubs.

This information was provided by Téléfoot journalist Yassin Nfaoui, who has also had a chat with the Canada international.

When directly asked if he’s flattered about Chelsea interest, the Serie A duo and the Madrid club closely following him, he told Téléfoot“When you’re young, those are the clubs you look at, those are the clubs you think of. It’s flattering, I appreciate that.”

The frontman will have a year left on his contract in the summer and that could be the last big chance for the French club to cash in from his sale. He then again talked about the reported interest of Chelsea and other big clubs.

“So of course, it’s flattering, I appreciate it. As they say every year, we’ll see what the future holds,” David explained.
