On March 27th, Le10 Sport reported Paris Saint-Germain have identified Liverpool star Luis Díaz as a candidate to replace Kylian Mbappé. The latter has confirmed he will leave PSG at the end of the season.
Recent claims in the UK have also talked about PSG’s interest in signing the winger, whose current deal at Liverpool lasts until 2027.
Amid claims of the Ligue 1 side’s interest, Liverpool are the ‘ideal place’ for the Colombia international.
That’s according to former Reds star Javier Mascherano, and he talked about the 27-year-old to Antena 2..
Mascherano and his former Barcelona teammate, Carlos Puyol, are in Colombia, and have been speaking to several local outlets there.
Díaz has been regular for Liverpool since he arrived at the Merseyside club from FC Porto in January 2022. He’s excelled under Jürgen Klopp’s orders and the Argentina U23 manager has heaped praise on the South American.
“He is a great player, very decisive especially when it comes to playing in one-on-one duels. The truth is that I think he has arrived at a team that fits him just right,” he said.
Mascherano, who was at Liverpool between 2007 and 2010, has explained why he feels the Premier League side are the ideal team for the South American.
“If there is something that Liverpool have is that they love players like Díaz who leave everything on the field and have that strength and leave everything on the field. That’s why I think he fits right where he has arrived,” Mascherano explained.
