Arsenal face the second leg of their Europa League tie this evening, and have a big taks on hand.

Ismaila Sarr was the star player for Rennes as they beat the Gunners 3-1 in the first leg of the round of 16 tie in France.

The 21-year-old has been mainly used as a right-winger this season, but has also been deployed on the left and as a striker. In the process he’s scored 10 goals and registered eight assists in all competitions.

According to Goal France, Arsenal have been closely following the forward on several occasions this term, especially through their former head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.

It’s claimed that after the clash between the Premier League outfit and Rennes, there was ‘first informal exchanges’ between the two clubs regarding Sarr.

The report explains the talks confirmed Arsenal’s ‘longstanding’ interest in the player and it could turn into an offer for Sarr in the coming months.

Sarr’s contract with the Ligue 1 club expires in 2021 and he is currently valued at €27m by Transfermarkt.
