Brighton’s pursuit of Gustavo Prado may soon reach a crucial stage. Internacional have now set specific financial terms for a possible transfer. According to Globo Esporte, the Brazilian club are ready to negotiate their 20-year-old attacking midfielder but will only do so for a fee between €10m and €20m.
Internacional’s board are targeting at least €10m to start talks. The figure could rise significantly if more than one club enters the race. This valuation reflects Prado’s growing reputation after his strong performances for Brazil’s U20 side earlier this year.
However, the financial structure behind any deal could make negotiations more complex. Globo Esporte reports that Internacional own only 60% of Prado’s economic rights. The remaining 40% is divided between Ferroviária (30%) and the player himself (10%). Because of this, a €10m sale would bring the Porto Alegre club only €6m.
To secure a higher return, Internacional are reportedly considering buying back part of those rights before selling the player abroad. The strategy would increase their profit if European clubs decide to move for the youngster. Brighton, among others, are said to be monitoring his progress closely.
Meanwhile, Internacional’s financial position adds pressure to the situation. The club have not yet reached their 2026 sales target and may need to sell at least one player after the Brazilian league ends. In that scenario, Gustavo Prado has become the most likely candidate to leave Beira-Rio.
According to the story, Bahia (City Group) and Porto have also made enquiries about Prado in 2025, in addition to Brighton. Scouts from all three clubs have reportedly attended recent matches to assess his development.
For now, Internacional plan to wait until the end of the Brasileirão before making a decision. The belief inside the club is that a strong finish to the season under manager Ramón Díaz could further boost Prado’s value ahead of the January window.
