Real Betis and Leeds United today confirmed the permanent transfer of Marc Roca.
Both clubs announced it as an ‘undisclosed fee’, but it didn’t take long for the amount and even the payment terms to filter to the Seville media.
Estadio Deportivo report the deal between Betis and Leeds was concluded for €4.5m. The amount is expected to be paid in two instalments.
Since Roca is valued by Transfermarkt at €9m, the outlet makes sure to say that the Spanish club ended up getting a great deal. Also because when taking him on loan from the Whites last season, the buying option was €12m.
Betis could have triggered an option to keep Roca on loan, as that was possible because of Leeds United remaining in the Championship. However, they took the opportunity to buy him for a good price, and he’s signed a contract until 2029.
Leeds spent €12m to sign Roca from Bayern Munich in 2022. He only played for the Whites for one season, and leaves the club with 36 appearances.
