It seems there’ll be a big operation for Real Betis to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Newspaper ABC today shares a long story claiming that the La Liga side consider this is the right time to bring the player back.
It’s said they never lost touch with Lo Celso, who still has deep feelings for the club and should also help with that plan.
The midfielder still has one year left in his contract with Tottenham, who currently valued him at €15m.
Betis are said to be ready to get to €10m, at most. And in case there’s no success, then Lo Celso can threaten to leave for free next year.
The newspaper sounds confident that the player’s desire will be very helpful for the operation, as he could block any other possibilities.
It’s said Betis don’t expect the talks to be easy, as they were tough when they sold him to Tottenham back in 2019, on a deal worth €32m plus €16m in bonuses. Still, they’re expected to fight ‘until the end’.
It will now be up to Spurs to decide whether this comeback can be done smoothly or not.
