Late last week, a story started in Italy that AC Milan were looking at Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun to bolster their attack next season.
They are set to lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is now 41, and with Divock Origi incapable of finding the back of the net, they will only have Olivier Giroud to rely on as a striker.
That’s why a younger option, such as the Arsenal forward, who is currently having the time of his life in Ligue 1 with Stade de Reims, is an attractive target.
They aren’t the only ones who have had this idea, though, as Gazzetta dello Sport report city rivals Inter Milan are also on the case.
It’s said that the black and blue side ‘know they have to change in the forward department’, regardless of what happens with Romelu Lukaku.
That’s why the Arsenal youngster ‘could be an interesting investment’, but a lot will depend on the money they can bring in with sales.
As things stand, it’s said that Balogun’s price tag is currently ‘valued at €20-25m’, everyone knows that if he continues scoring, that will increase between now and the end of the season.
A lot could also rest on what Mikel Arteta’s plans are for the young striker, who could end up having a future at the Emirates if he is deemed good enough.
