Aston Villa travel to the Netherlands today ahead of their Thursday match against Feyenoord. Unai Emery’s side beat Bologna 1-0 last week in their first Europa League match of the campaign.
They’ll be hoping to secure another three points against Robin van Persie’s side. The Rotterdam club have just received a late fitness blow, and it sounds like a useful one for Aston Villa.
1908.NL report Feyenoord are set to be without Quentin Timber. This is an unexpected absence and Van Persie is set to explain more at his press conference later on Wednesday.
The midfielder picked up an injury against FC Groningen and won’t be ready to face the Premier League club. To underline his importance, Timber has played 10 times already this season, scoring two goals and adding an assist.
Last season the 24-year-old made just 26 appearances. That was’t down to managerial choices, but rather missing a big chunk due to a knee injury.
Feyenoord are therefore likely to be extra cautious with Timber.
