Fenerbahce are on the verge of signing Jeremain Lens on loan, and now they want his Sunderland teammate Wahbi Khazri.
The Turkish club have been chasing Twente’s 23-year old Hakim Ziyech throughout this window, but FFP rules means they are only prepared to pay €2.5million, which is €8million under Twente’s asking price.
The Yellow Canaries offered to take him on loan with a view to making it permanent, but late minute interest from Ajax and Swansea City means Ziyech is likely to go elsewhere.
Subsequently Sabah claim Fenerbahce are now monitoring Khazri’s situation at Sunderland, with reports they’ve made an offer to loan him.
Khazri was an ever present for Sam Allardyce after joining from Bordeaux in January, but so far, under David Moyes, the Tunisian has seen his chances limited. Wahbi Khazri is understood to be keen on working with Dick Advocaat, but nothing’s yet decided.
Khazri joined Sunderland in the last winter transfer window for €12million, and has played 14 games for the Premier League side, scoring 2 goals.
