There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahçe are again showing interest in Nottingham Forest attacker Jota Silva.

The Portugal international was linked with a move to Sporting during the final days of the transfer window, but a return to his home country didn’t materialise. An agreement was reached between Nottingham Forest and Sporting but the paperwork didn’t go through in time and there’s been an ongoing blame-game since then.

Yenicag Gazetesi report on Fenerbahçe’s renewed interest in the Nottingham Forest player, following reports in June they’d made contact for him.

At the time it was claimed Jose Mourinho was keen to bring Jota Silva to Istanbul as he looked to add to his squad. Mourinho reportedly wanted to solve his issues on the left due to Saint-Maximin and Dušan Tadić leaving at the end of last season.

Despite signing Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Mourinho leaving the Super Lig side last week, it’s claimed they could still make an attempt to sign Jota Silva. Fener have until the 12th of September to reinforce their squad, and the Forest player is an option.

Jota Silva made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, but has just 11 minutes under his belt so far in this campaign. He’s contracted until June 2028.
