Ajax will be under huge pressure when they visit Brighton & Hove Albion for their Europa League clash this week.
The Amsterdam side currently stand 17th in the Eredivisie, which only has 18 clubs, and the fear of relegation is something that has taken over the Dutch media.
On Instagram, Ajax supporters from F-Side have now issued a statement regarding the match against Brighton.
Just like most fans, they’re expecting Maurice Steijn to be sacked as soon as possible. And that means before the match against the Seagulls.
“Steijn, time to say goodbye! We’d rather go to Brighton without a coach than with you,” says their post.
“So Maurice, keep the honour to yourself and go! You no longer have our support.”
That should give Brighton a pretty good idea of what’s to come in Thursday’s match, as the environment at Ajax isn’t the best right now.
The Dutch side haven’t been doing great in the Europa League either, with two draws in two games, and they’re third in Group B.
Brighton have had a worse Europa run so far, who have one draw and one loss, and are now at the bottom of the group. Perhaps this is the perfect occasion to get a win and turn things around.
