Following the whole recent debacle that followed a recent interview done by Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund, there had been some rumours circulating that he had since been reprimanded by the club.

That, of course, is not true, and the Danish striker had to take it upon himself while on international duty to try and clarify the situation.

The Manchester United striker sat down with Tipsbladet for a chat, and was keen to make sure that everyone knew the truth.

About the claims he had been told off for his chat with The United Stand, Højlund said: “Nothing has been said to be so it is fake news. I haven’t read all of that, but it’s certainly not true that something has been said to me that I may not do an interview with this or that fan media.”

The Manchester United star, who was bought from Atalanta last summer for a hefty fee of €75m, is currently with the Denmark squad during the international break.

Arriving with an injury and struggling to score at first, the 21-year-old has now found his goalscoring boots at Old Trafford, having found the back of the net 13 times in 31 appearances for the Red Devils, as well as picking up two assists.

Denmark are set to play Switzerland and the Faroe Islands over the next week, giving the Manchester United player the perfect chance to add to his seven goals in 10 games for his country to date.
