On May 22nd, Globo Esporte explained that West Ham United are in advanced talks with Flamengo over a deal for Fabrício Bruno. It was also reported the Premier League side are expected to seal the deal in the next few weeks.
Two days later, the same outlet stated the Brazilian club are worried of the 28-year-old suffering an injury and internally there is a debate on whether or not he should represent them anymore, ahead of his potential move to West Ham.
The Hammers have made an offer to sign the defender and this is confirmed by Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz, who states the proposal is being evaluated. His comments are relayed by O Dia.
“Flamengo are analysing the proposal. We see it favourably because it’s fair. It’s an interesting proposal for the player, which is from the Premier League. Let’s see what happens. Flamengo are analysing and seeing how we could minimise this loss,” he said.
Braz hasn’t mentioned the details of the offer made by Julen Lopetegui for the centre-back. That information is shared by O Dia, who state West Ham have offered a fee around €15m.
Bruno, who has a contract until December 2028, has made 22 appearances for his club this year. At the weekend, O Globo suggested Flamengo’s derby clash against Vasco da Gama on June 2nd could be the player’s last outing with his current employer.
