Michaël Cuisance was supposed to be a Leeds United player now. He’d travelled to England to complete a move to the Premier League club and it was considered a matter of time before the transfer was completed.

Some of the claims pushed the transfer along further than it really was. Clearly, there were no contracts signed, and claims Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had publicly said goodbye to the midfielder relied on a fake Instagram account… the Bayern Munich chief isn’t on the social media platform.

Bild now seek to bring some clarity to the situation, and they cover the news from David Ornstein regarding a failed medical. The German newspaper then add their own information, stating the issue was due to a ‘risk of injury’ to one of Cuisance’s legs.

They insist it hasn’t hindered him in training recently and won’t stop him playing matches, but there’s a risk a bigger injury is on the way.

Bild then go for a little mischief making, suggesting it could have something to do with an incident with Robert Lewandowski in training earlier this week. The German media reported an altercation between Cuisance and the striker, after the Poland international put in a heavy tackle.

However, Bild then somewhat dismiss this as the reason for the failed medical, so seem to just want to throw some gossip in.

Now it’s an ‘extremely difficult situation’ for all involved, with the player knowing Bayern were ready to sell and not counting on him. Cuisance will need to be reintegrated into the squad, and is eager for playing time.

There’s no suggestion a move to Leeds United, or anywhere else, could be revived.
