Jhon Jader Durán’s lack of game time at Aston Villa is causing ‘extreme concern’ for Colombia’s U-20 as they plan for the U-20 World Cup.
That’s according to Caracol Radio, who say the striker’s decision to ‘quickly join Emery’ at Villa Park may have backfired for him and his country.
Gol explain that ‘there is concern’ among Colombia’s sporting management over Durán, who is one of the ‘main pieces’ of the Colombian U-20 side and set to be a key player for them at the World Cup.
Héctor Cárdenas’s side are set to start their training camp for that tournament soon and the Aston Villa striker will join them, but he will do so ‘with little experience’.
He arrived at Villa Park in January to ‘live the dream’ of playing in the Premier League, even missing the South American Championship in order to ‘quickly integrate’ himself into Unai Emery’s squad.
He made his debut on 4th February but has only played a substitutes role since that point, managing just 11 minutes of action; a situation his country consider a ‘mess’.
He has so far managed to get more than 15 minute of playing time just once since his arrival at Aston Villa and his total time on the pitch so far equals just 76 minutes, ‘worrying figures’ for him and his country, who need him fit and firing for the U-20 World Cup.
