Tottenham Hotspur‘s Luka Vušković spent this season on loan at Hamburg SV and already said goodbye to them.
The Croatia international was one of the standout players for the Bundesliga side and his fine displays didn’t go unnoticed.
Hamburg have publicly talked about their desire to extend the Tottenham man. At the same time, the 19-year-old has caught the attention of top European clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Last week, the centre-back expressed his desire to continue at the German club.
He’s also happy with the transfer links but said he belongs to Spurs, indicating they are in control over his future.
Hamburg return for Tottenham man ruled out
The latest claims from the UK stated Roberto De Zerbi’s side want to extend his contract and send him back on loan to Hamburg SV.
Sky Deutschland wastes no time to dismiss the possibility of Luka Vušković’s return as there’s been no talks with the German club over a new loan deal.
The defender has two options; ‘a long-term contract extension with Spurs or a move to a top club.’ He’s now with the national team squad preparing for the World Cup.
Dnevnik Nova TV in Croatia have also relayed the British claim and their journalist, Stipe Antonijević, provides his own updates.
Sources, likely from the Spurs man’s camp, inform him a new loan move to Hamburg is ‘not considered at all’.
Antonijević states ‘it’s true’ that the north London club are planning to offer an improved contract, without providing their details. They want to reward him after impressing while on loan in Germany.
Vušković’s decision awaited
Tottenham Hotspur were successful in avoiding relegation on the last day of this season.
Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed news Luka Vušković prefers to change clubs this summer. If it’s true, then Spurs would have a difficult task to secure his renewal.
The Croatia’s contract expires in 2030, and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €60m.
