Newcastle United continue to be pointed out as the most likely destination for Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron.
It’s the Paraguayan journalist Walter Estigarribia who brings an update today, saying the player has been an ‘express request’ from the Magpies manager Rafa Benitez.
The report claims that Almiron is close to becoming the ‘most expensive Paraguayan player ever’ with a move to the Premier League.
However, despite these two affirmations, there are no further details on how things stand between Newcastle, Atalanta and the player.
Earlier this week, sources have told Sport Witness that although several Premier League sides have made starting contacts over signing Miguel Almiron, Atlanta are still to receive an official offer for the player.
With the MLS recently coming to an end with Atlanta’s title, the player is now enjoying his vacations and waiting for an English club to call him.
