On Tuesday, AS reported Brighton & Hove Albion’s Igor Julio has given his approval to join Real Sociedad, who are making advances to sign him this summer.

El Diario Vasco, a newspaper local to the La Liga club, reports the centre-back has agreed personal terms for a four or five-year contract.

Real Sociedad have to agree terms with Brighton to conclude the operation and have an idea of the fee needed to convince the Seagulls.

They haven’t submitted an offer yet and the newspaper states La Real are likely to table one in the ‘coming days’.

Igor Julio can operate as a centre-back and also on the left side of the defence. If Real Sociedad were to sign him, he will immediately start as a left-back, another position that’s been bothering them.

There’s still work to do, and the 27-year-old’s agent is optimistic of getting this operation over the line. The representative trusts the Spanish club to meet Brighton’s asking price.

Despite the possibility of Real Sociedad making an offer for the Brazilian, they are in no rush to complete the operation. That isn’t the case with Fabian Hürzeler’s side, who want to sell him as soon as possible.

El Diario Vasco explains why the Premier League club are in a hurry to part ways with the defender permanently.

Diego Coppola has already completed his move to The Amex. Olivier Boscagli is set to join Brighton after his contract at PSV Eindhoven expires on June 30th.

The Frenchman will move to The Amex on July 1st and therefore, Brighton intend to sell Igor Julio ‘this week’. The Seagulls player is currently in São Paulo, waiting ‘for his future to be finalised’.
