Victor Kristiansen had a difficult start at Bologna, after joining them on loan from Leicester City last summer.
The Denmark international has cemented his place in this calendar year and has become an almost irreplaceable player under Thiago Motta.
This has convinced the Serie A side to retain the Leicester owned player and Friday’s edition of Corriere di Bologna provides the latest on this case.
Along with the left-back, Alexis Saelemaekers and Jens Odgaard are also on loan at Bologna, and the report states around €30m is needed to buy the trio after this season.
Among them, the ‘most expensive’ one is the Leicester man, whose purchase option is set at €15m. This is deemed high by the Italian club, and earlier claims had stated they will use the 21-year-old’s desire to continue with them to try to lower the asking price.
Enzo Maresca’s side are currently second in the Championship, level on points with league leaders Leeds United. Leicester have a game in hand and avoiding defeat will see them regain the top spot.
Corriere di Bologna state the Foxes’ probable promotion to the Premier League ‘doesn’t help’ Bologna in their negotiations to lower the price for Kristiansen.
In other words, Leicester’s return to the top flight would make it challenging for Bologna to buy Kristiansen for less than €15m.
