With Marseille wanting to keep William Saliba at the club following his loan spell from Arsenal, we’ve been seeing several reports from France regarding their hopes of agreeing a deal with the Gunners.

More recent reports have also been claiming that Newcastle United are in the race as well, and according to most recent news from Italy, we can now add a third club to the list.

Tutto Mercato Web writes that Napoli made an ‘exploratory survey’ for Saliba. With not many details of how the contacts went, they just point out the ‘more than positive experience’ he had at Marseille this season.

Meanwhile, journalist Daniele Longari also reports that approach, pointing out that despite being ‘appreciated’ by the Serie A side, the defender is also ‘very expensive’ so would be difficult for Napoli to sign.

Saliba has already gone public to say he expects to be at Arsenal next season. However, if the Gunners decide to cash in with sale this summer, they’re certainly not short of options, as long as they put an affordable price tag on him.
