Earlier on Wednesday, we covered a story from France looking at Chelsea’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Kays Ruiz-Atil.

The young midfielder has been on the radar of Premier League clubs over the past few years, and the Blues adding themselves to that list wasn’t surprising.

After all, the player had featured under Thomas Tuchel, now the manager at Stamford Bridge following Frank Lampard’s dismissal, with the German clearly a fan of the talent.

One of the key parts in this remains the fact that Ruiz-Atil’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is up in the summer, and renewal talks aren’t going in the right direction.

Le Parisien confirm this on Wednesday, stating the player’s has been ‘sent back to the U19s’ and negotiations regarding a new contract are getting ‘bogged down’.

In fact, ‘an exit at the end of the season is expected’ by Paris Saint-Germain, unlike his teammates Timothée Pembélé, Xavi Simons, Edouard Michut and Denis Franchi, who have all convinced Mauricio Pochettino that they can be of use.

Good news for Chelsea then, who now just have to be the most convincing out of a likely host of competition wanting a great talent on a free come the end of the season.
