Bought for a hefty sum of £27m from OGC Nice last summer, Jean-Michael Seri was unable to help Fulham avoid relegation back down to the Championship.
Scoring one goal and providing three assists in 32 Premier League appearances, the Ivory Coast international is now looking for a way out from Craven Cottage, as has been reported previously around Europe.
Currently on international duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, Seri remains a Fulham player for the time being, but there is work going on behind the scenes for an exit this summer, with Crystal Palace interested.
Sport Witness have learned there is ‘no chance’ of the former Nice star staying at the London club next season, and offers from reputable sides have already been presented.
Inter, Napoli and Galatasaray have all made moves to acquire the 27-year-old, but they have all been loans, which doesn’t appear to suit all parties, at least for now.
Furthermore, claims that Seri was offered to West Ham are correct, but that was over a month ago, and it’s clear there has been no movement since then as the Hammers focused on other targets.
As for the aforementioned Eagles, they are still ‘looking’ at the midfielder following mid-June reports of interest, a transfer that would allow him to remain in the Premier League, which he wouldn’t be against.
Flush with cash from the Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United deal, Crystal Palace certainly have the money to convince Fulham, who have been suggested as ready to make a loss on Seri, as players depreciate after relegation.
Certainly something to keep an eye on, but with a lot of the transfer window ahead of us, there are likely to be more twists and turns.
