Atlanta United are still to receive an offer from the Premier League for the Paraguayan star Miguel Almiron, Sport Witness understands.
Despite the recent quotes from the player’s father saying he would be close to joining Newcastle United, the Magpies are believed to be just one of the many clubs who are keen on the 24-year-old.
“Definitely he goes to England, what remains to be defined is the club, but Newcastle is the one that takes advantage,” said Ruben Almiron (via ABC).
Our sources say that ‘many clubs’ from the Premier League have indeed made efforts to get more information on the midfielder, but they are still to take a decision on whether to make an attempt or not.
Almirón has just finished the MLS season with Atlanta United, where he made 38 appearances, with 13 goals and 13 assists. After winning the MLS Cup, the player is now enjoying his vacations until he’s finally called by one of the clubs who are interested in him.
For now, there’s nothing he can do about his future other than sit and wait.
