Everton, Leicester City and West Ham United are all in talks for the signing of Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu, Sport Witness understands.
All these clubs have recently held meetings with the player’s entourage, as the 25-year-old is likely to leave the Bulgarian side soon.
That’s why the club can’t hold back interest from the player, and before the weekend, Cafu is still to receive receive approaches from three more English clubs, on top of Everton, Leicester City and West Ham. Then he’ll hear offers from Spain, Italy, and France.
Having signed from São Paulo in 2015, the player already showed his talent in his debut season by scoring eight league goals. Now he seems to be finally adapted to Europe, managing similar numbers in much less time.
Ludogorets are set to hear all the offers, but the price is expected to be nowhere near the €2.2m they paid for Cafu one and a half year ago, with a good profit expected.
Everton and West Ham are the Premier League clubs who could be most active during the January transfer window, with Claude Puel’s Southampton also linked with several purchases.
Ronald Koeman is determined to improve his Everton squad for the second half of the season, and Slaven Bilic has all kinds of problems he needs to sort out at West Ham.
