Ex Romania international turned pundit Iosif Rotariu has spoken to Sport.ro about Ianis Hagi’s performances for the national side and his situation at Rangers.
The attacking midfielder impressed in his country’s 3-1 victory over Lithuania last night, but he’s yet to feature in Philippe Clement’s side this season.
Speaking after Romania’s win in the Nations League, Rotariu said the Rangers player is very hard to predict when it comes to his dribbling and set pieces, because of his ability with both feet.
Rotariu doesn’t understand the treatment Hagi has been receiving at Rangers and encouraged Clement to reconsider.
Hagi was loaned out to Alaves last season, but since returning to Glasgow his situation with Rangers has been difficult.
He’s seen himself frozen out at Ibrox with some reports he will receive a significant pay rise if he plays another game for the Scottish club.
The attacking midfielder was linked with a move this summer, with reports last week that Steaua Bucharest were looking get a last-minute deal over the line. However, a move didn’t materialise and Hagi now finds himself training with Rangers’ reserves.
