Former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones has compared Liverpool to his current club Feyenoord. The Australian joined the Dutch giants this summer after being released by NEC at the end of last season.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Jones said, like Liverpool, Feyenoord goes much deeper with its fans compared to other clubs. He believes there is unconditional love, which helps clubs like these achieve success on the pitch.

“Like at Liverpool, football goes much deeper to the people, more than many other clubs. It’s unconditional love,” said the former Liverpool keeper on his new club.

Jones spent five seasons on Merseyside, and even though he wasn’t a regular the Liverpool fans took to him. Jones also had a five season spell with Middlesbrough before he moved to Anfield in 2010. Again he never the first choice at the Riverside, and therefore had loan moves with a number of English sides.
