Don’t let the relative silence of the rumours fool you, Milan still want Serge Aurier.

Gazzetta dello Sport give us a nice reminder on Thursday that the Serie A side haven’t forgotten about the Tottenham defender, where ‘everything seems prepared on the financial side’.

However, they say that ‘it is curious that the final word is being reserved in London, at Elliott’s general quarters’.

What they aren’t doing is ‘checking his technical background’, since they’ve been following him for so long, but they are rather ‘interested in understanding if he will fully embrace’ the new project planned at Milan.

There was a time when it seemed like Ralf Rangnick would take over from Stefano Pioli, but following a strong end to the season post Covid-19 break, the Italian was given a contract extension.

We’ll have to wait and see, but it all appears to be heading in the right direction.

It seems like it’s all down to the player and whether or not he’s happy with what the Serie A side are offering him.
