Bryan Gil ‘choose to stay’ at Tottenham Hotspur despite receiving several offers in the winter market.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who state the 23-year-old’s decision hasn’t paid off.

Gil has found it difficult to enjoy regular game time since joining Tottenham from Sevilla in 2021.

After loan spells at Valencia and Sevilla, the winger was looking for a long term solution rather than another loan, but that didn’t happen in January.

The player was ‘seduced’ by a return to the Andalusian club last month but they weren’t able to meet Tottenham’s demand of €7-8m, due to their delicate economic conditions.

The Spain international has been restricted to 221 minutes from 11 games at Spurs this season, out of which 46 minutes are from this calendar year.

His situation is unlikely to improve, considering Ange Postecoglou has several options in attack and Tottenham only have league fixtures left until the end of the season.

Gil has over two years left on his contract but Estadio Deportivo state ‘everything points to a summer exit’ for him.

The report adds his valuation continues to drop and Tottenham won’t be able to recover most of the fee they invested to sign him. At the same time, Gil ‘won’t lack suitors’, due to his age and what he has shown in La Liga in the past.
