It was also explained the forward was not deterred by the Toffees’ struggles this season.
Since this report surfaced, Everton suffered a defeat against West Ham United and Frank Lampard was shown the exit door on Monday. The manager’s sacking is unlikely to have an impact on this operation.
According to Cadena Ser, ‘everything indicates’ the Netherlands international will end up at Everton in the winter market. He will join them on loan without any option to make the deal permanent.
Over at AS, they also state the former Bournemouth man’s short-term future will be at Everton.
The deal has been on the right track for several days and without a last minute twist, the Dutchman ‘will close’ his loan move to Everton today.
