Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García looks destined to end up in the Premier League as Arsenal and Manchester United both eye him up.

That’s according to Sport, who say, ‘everything indicates’ García will move to England despite reported interest from Barcelona.

The newspaper explains that the Espanyol keeper is one of the most ‘fashionable’ on the market, establishing himself as one of the decisive goalkeepers in La Liga.

Barcelona have been credited with an interest but ‘everything indicates’ that his next destination would be the Premier League as Espanyol don’t intend to ever negotiate with Barcelona.

They would insist they pay the defender’s €30m release clause but would be happy to negotiate that with other clubs.

They already did that last summer when Arsenal came knocking and presented an official offer. That was only worth €20m between a fixed price and add-ons and not enough to convince Espanyol.

Arsenal would have a ‘certain advantage’ if they were to return this summer since they’ve been talking to the player’s entourage for more than a year.

Reports in the last few days have also credited Manchester United with an interest, even saying that they have sounded out the possibility of signing him this summer.

Espanyol would welcome that, and they are interest increasing as much noise as possible to lure Manchester United, Arsenal and any other clubs into a bidding war to get the best possible sale.
