Boca Juniors’ Aaron Anselmino is edging closer to completing a move to Chelsea this summer.
Last Wednesday, Olé reported the centre-back will have his Blues medical in London. Two days later, Argentine journalist Marcos Bonocore said he will undergo these tests in the US, where Chelsea are currently on pre-season tour.
After the initial confusion, the defender will carry out the tests in London and then sign his contract with Chelsea. At the weekend, the Argentine left his country to make a trip to the English capital.
Prior to that, ESPN in Argentina had a chat with the 19-year-old and he didn’t hold back when publicly expressing his feelings about his impending move to the west London club.
“I’m very happy, everything happened very quickly. Since I was a little boy, I dreamed of this, things are going well and I hope they continue like this. Every footballer dreams of this opportunity, I’m very happy,” he said.
Chelsea will pay €18m [£14.05m] plus potential bonus payments to Boca Juniors to sign the young defender.
As a part of the deal, Enzo Maresca’s side will allow Anselmino to return to Boca Juniors until next season, with an option to cut short his stay at the end of December.
ESPN claim Anselmino should complete his move to Chelsea and then return to the South American club on Thursday.
