Over the past few months, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has given an interview whenever his client has excelled for both Chelsea and Italy.

The midfielder lost the FA Cup final with the Blues to Leicester City, before going on to win the Champions League back in May.

More than a month later, the 30-year-old achieved triumph with his national team as Italy won the Euros.

The ex-Napoli man was named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year on Thursday, beating club teammate N’Golo Kanté and Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne in the process.

Santos has given a new interview to TuttoMercatoWeb just hours after his client won the prestigious individual award, and it’s no surprise Jorginho’s future at the west London club was discussed.

The Brazil-born Italy international’s contract expires in 2023 and when asked about his renewal, his agent said: “He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. As a philosophy, the club renews contracts when one year is missing. We will see what happens next year.”

Santos was pressed if Jorginho would consider returning to Serie A, now that he has won the European championship with the Azzurri.

“Obviously, yes. When you win a European championship with Italy, the next step can be to play in Italy. But now we don’t get hot. Everything changes in a short time,” he added.
