Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez has signed a new deal with the club, according to claims from Argentina.

TyC Sports journalist Cesar Luis Merlo is the one breaking the news about the contract extension.

The reporter had the renewal confirmed by Fernando Hidalgo, agent of the Manchester City player, who even spoke about the new deal.

“Everything has already been signed and it will be announced by the club shortly,” Fernando Hidalgo told Cesar Luis Merlo.

According to the journalist, Alvarez’s new deal with Manchester City will run until June 2028, and that includes an ‘important’ pay rise. The same source had already reported this week that this extension was about to be signed.

The striker joined Pep Guardiola’s side in a €21.4m deal from River Plate in January last year. He initially stayed loaned at the Buenos Aires side, and completed the move last summer.

Since arriving at Manchester City, Alvarez has ten goals and three assists in 33 appearances. The Argentine media often wonder why he isn’t used more, but the truth is that he has a fair amount of minutes given that this is his first season at the Premier League side.
