Aston Villa midfielder Philippe Coutinho has arrived in Brazil and left a little hint about his next destination.
After landing in São Paulo, the player was quizzed about a dream to play for Vasco da Gama again, and nearly confirmed that there are talks going on.
“Right now I don’t have much to say, everyone already knows,” Coutinho told BTB Sports.
Just a few hours ago, the Brazilian media had already reported that the player would go to Brazil and accelerate the talks with Vasco.
The Aston Villa player, who had been loaned to Al-Duhail this season, reportedly chose to head back to his childhood club, where he started his career.
Even though initial reports said Vasco would like to sign Coutinho on loan with an option to buy, it’s now been claimed that he might have his contract with the Villans rescinded.
That would be a great way for Aston Villa to get rid of his salary, as there’s no way the Brazilian club could cover all the money he makes in his current contract.
While at the airport, Coutinho said he has big affection for Vasco da Gama, and it seems he won’t hide that a comeback is close.
