Vítor Pereira resurfaced in Portugal this week with a personal appearance that drew media attention, only a month after his departure from Wolverhampton.

He appeared at Santa Clara, the club he coached between 2008 and 2010, to deliver two training sessions and revisit a period he still values deeply. O Jogo reported the visit and his remarks.

Emotional reflections on Santa Clara years

Pereira said the two seasons he spent in the Azores marked his career. He also explained how he gets emotionally attached to all his clubs, something which was evident at Wolves. “They were two wonderful years of my life. I would like to return one day and even live here. Every club seems to move me,” he explained.

He also revisited the failed promotion push. “We were so close to going up. I hold on to the positives. I spent two years competing for us to win promotion. It was the best step of my career, my first experience abroad and the one that marked me the most.”

Pereira added that he still follows Santa Clara and trusts the current project. “It is one of the clubs of my heart.”

Wolves chapter still shapes the narrative

His appearance comes shortly after a difficult Premier League spell. Wolves dismissed him in early November after a tense start to the campaign.

Supporters at Molineux remember how quickly the season became unstable, and the club made its decision before the halfway point.

At the same time, his name continues to circulate as a good coaching option in Brazil, as we covered earlier. The visibility of this return to Santa Clara, combined with the personal tone of his remarks, adds a new layer to the possibility of him taking a new job sooner rather than later.
