Everton might have found themselves being used to push Ipswich Town along in their pursuit of Napoli’s Jens Cajuste.

That’s if the latest information from journalist Sacha Tavolieri is anything to go by, with him insisting that the Swedish midfielder is now keen on the move to Ipswich.

Cajuste has been linked with a move away from Napoli for several weeks, with them continuing to reshape the squad for Antonio Conte.

Ipswich have been at the front of the queue for him since Brentford dropped out, but reports throughout this week have put Everton in the mix, insisting that they had also expressed an interest in the midfielder .

They’ve already done business with Napoli this summer over a loan deal for Jesper Lindstrom and the belief was that the relationship could facilitate matters.

Tavolieri reports that Cajuste is on the verge of joining Ipswich, though, with him keen on the move and an official decision set to be taken in the next few hours.

He adds that everything is sorted between Ipswich and Napoli on a loan deal without an option to buy being included.

That would suggest Everton’s interest might have been overstated this week, perhaps used as a tactic to push Ipswich along when matters got a little stuck.
