Back in August, a report from Italy claimed that Everton made a late attempt to sign Dan Ndoye from FC Basel.
It was said that while Bologna worked on the last details to land him, the Toffees tried to place their bid, but were rejected by the player, who’d like an ‘intermediate step’ before joining a club in the Premier League.
Even though that was the only story we covered about Everton’s chase for Ndoye in the summer, outlet Grande Hotel CalcioMercato now shows this pursuit may actually have been a lot longer.
The website today features a story about the player’s success at Bologna and points out there was a ‘rich proposal’ from the Toffees in the last transfer window.
It’s said Everton followed Ndoye since July, having made ‘several’ attempts to sign him, never winning that battle.
Bologna spent €9m to sign the winger, who has one goal and five assists for the club so far. They highlight that ‘the wedding is doing great’, with the Serie A side happy that the Toffees never managed to place a convincing offer.
