Everton have only made initial enquiries about Napoli forward Jesper Lindstrom so far and not made the matter official as yet.
That’s according to Area Napoli, who report that Everton ‘are thinking of’ Lindstrom for next season as they continue to strengthen their squad this summer.
The outlet explains that the two clubs find themselves in a process of exchanging information at this moment in time as Napoli have also shown an interest in Vitaliy Mykolenko.
The Toffees are keen on the winger as they look to add to their forward options, having struggled for goals last season.
They have a budget of get of €25-30m for a new offensive reinforcement, according to Area Napoli, but have not yet shown a willingness to spend that on Lindstrom.
For now, they’ve not made an official offers for the Danish winger and instead are limiting themselves to ‘a few surveys’ to evaluate the possibility of a deal for him this summer.
It remains to be seen whether they want to ‘delve deeper’ into the matter and enter formal negotiations over a transfer or let the matter drop.
Lindstrom, for his part, is currently focused on Napoli and trying to convince new manager Antonio Conte to give him a chance moving forwards.
He doesn’t seem particularly focused on a transfer away but perhaps if Everton, or any other suitors make concrete moves, that will change.
