Paris Saint-Germain are looking to bring in a new midfielder in January and Idrissa Gueye of Everton is one of the main targets linked with the Ligue 1 winners.

On Wednesday, we covered a report from L’Equipe, who claimed that talks of transfer had ‘intensified’ in recent hours and Thomas Tuchel’s side have submitted a bid of €25m for the Toffees player.

Thursday’s edition of the same publication takes a look at the various options available for Les Parisiens in the transfer window and the former Aston Villa man once again gets a mention.

It’s claimed that Gueye’s case remains most advanced as of now, however, agent Pini Zahavi believes Everton ‘wouldn’t be a seller’ at this stage, not the news PSG want.

Everton are ‘working on several profiles’ to bring in a replacement for their player before agreeing to any deal with PSG. Until that brings success, the move looks blocked, hence Zahavi’s pessimism.

It will be interesting to see how this saga will end with one week left in the transfer window.
