Things are getting harder for UD Las Palmas to keep Jonathan Vieira at the club. Over the weekend, reports from Spain said the Spanish side had turned down a €25m offer from Swansea City. And now the Premier League strikes again, this time with Everton.

Newcastle United are named as ‘another team’ interested, but there’s nothing else mentioned about interest from Rafael Benitez’s side.

According to Marca, Everton are still to present an official bid, but have recently asked about the player’s situation and are prepared to pay his €30m release clause.

UD Las Palmas have no intention to sell the 27-year-old, and that’s why they won’t negotiate the price or the payment methods. It’s the release clause or nothing.

The midfielder’s will was to stay at the club, but Marca claims that both Swansea and Everton are offering him a salary he can’t refuse. It could reach up to €4m, but there’s no mention of what Newcastle would offer.
