Everton and West Ham are both keen on Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia and have ‘often expressed interest’ in a transfer deal.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say both clubs could make their move to sign the 26-year-old.
He’s been impressing while on loan with Salernitana this season, with ten goals and four assists in 24 games in Serie A to date.
The Italian side have an option to turn his loan deal from Villarreal into a permanent one in the summer but it has become increasingly likely he will be moved on for a profit after that happens.
Corriere pick up on that thread, stating that ‘it is very probable’ that the striker will be bought but then it ‘will be very difficult’ to keep him in Salerno.
That’s because ‘the requests are not lacking’, with Everton and West Ham both showing an interest in the player, who has been ‘decisive’ this season.
He’s currently ‘worth at least €20m’ but that could be buttons for the two sides, who are desperate to add a goal scorer to their squads this summer.
Everton are in particular need of reinforcement but could have an ace up their sleeve in Neal Maupay, who Salernitana have liked in the past and looked at again in recent months. A potential swap deal would make plenty of sense for both parties.
West Ham, meanwhile, look set to move Gianluca Scamacca on in the summer after his struggles this season and perhaps they see Dia as an ideal replacement.
That remains to be seen but the interest is certainly there and the two clubs have seemingly made that clear to Salernitana.
