Everton are making a move for Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho after missing out on El Bilal Toure and Moussa Dembélé.
That’s according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who says Everton are ‘active on the file’ of the Leicester man as their hunt for a new striker continues.
The Blues are determined to add to their forward line this summer after struggling in that department all last season when Dominic Calvert-Lewin spent much of the campaign out injured.
They’ve been pushing to get various players through the door but have faced frustration in their attempts to do so, with Dembélé electing to go to Saudi Arabia and El Bilal Toure joining Atalanta instead.
Those deals are yet to be done but are in the final stages and Genuardi says it has pushed Everton to look at alternative options.
Their primary target now appears to be Iheanacho, and they have made him one of their new priorities alongside Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto.
The Toffees are now ‘active’ in terms of trying to sign the Nigerian, although there is no mention of whether Leicester are open to doing a deal.
They’ve already seen several big exits this summer following relegation and may be loathe to losing another player, particularly to the team that stayed in the Premier League at their expense.
Either way, it seems Everton have now turned their attention to Iheanacho and will try to make him their new striker after failed efforts elsewhere.
#Mercato
