It’s been a while since the Portuguese media started claiming that Sporting and Everton have an agreement for the transfer of João Virgínia. And even though the move hasn’t been completed yet, there’s no concern about it.
Newspaper Record is the one bringing a short update on the situation today. They claim the transfer will be made official on Tuesday.
According to the outlet, Virgínia is even training with his Sporting teammates already, even though there was no announcement from the club yet.
Since Sporting’s squad are having a day off on Monday, Virgínia should return to the club tomorrow and finally complete the process.
The goalkeeper is joining Sporting on a one-year loan deal, and the Lions will have a chance to make the transfer permanent for €3.5m. He’s expected to fight for a starting place in the team against Antonio Adan.
In case Virgínia manages to prove himself in Lisbon, the Lions will certainly feel like they managed to get him from Everton on a bargain deal.
