Besiktas have reached an agreement with Everton for Cenk Tosun to return to the club on loan.

That’s according to TRT Spor, who say the two clubs have finalised a deal for the Turkish striker to return to the club until the end of the season.

That is all they are willing to offer on the transfer at this point, with details likely to be forthcoming sooner rather than later.

Tosun has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland over the last week, with him openly admitting earlier this week that he would be happy to go back to his former club if they can do a deal with Everton.

A deal has reportedly been stuck on how much of the striker’s wages Besiktas will pay, with Everton wanting it covered in full but the Turkish side only offering half.

A report from Asist Analiz earlier today stated that despite there being ‘significant progress’ in the talks, Everton’s demands were holding things back.

They claimed that Everton’s desire for a ‘championship bonus’ of €500,000 was holding things up and Besiktas were returning for final talks this afternoon.

The Turkish side wanted Tosun ‘free of charge’ and planned a ‘last meeting’ with Everton today to see if they could get a deal over the line.

They wanted the Toffees to make a sacrifice and have asked the same of Tosun too, informing him he will need to reduce his salary, which is €1.25m, if he is to return.

Asist also claimed that if Everton were willing let go of this ‘championship bonus’ then the deal would be done, if not Besiktas’ plan was to shelve the proposed return.

That, the website claimed, would see Tosun moving to Russia instead, with CSKA Moscow having already agreed to ‘fulfil all conditions’ to sign the Turkish striker.

He, though, wants a return to his former club and now appears to have gotten his wish after the latest round of talks.
