Everton’s Cenk Tosun has already met with Besiktas ahead of a potential return to his former club this month.
That’s what NTV Spor report today, carrying comments from the player that he’s keen to rejoin the Super Lig side if they can find an agreement with Everton.
Tosun has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this month after playing a peripheral role under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
He had looked likely to go to West Bromwich Albion and reunite with Sam Allardyce, the man who took him to Everton during his stint on Merseyside.
However, that option appears to have disappeared as the Baggies look set to sign Mbaye Diagne from Galatasaray instead.
That has opened the door to a return to Besiktas, who are keen to add a striker to their squad and have turned their attention to their former player after struggling to get a deal for Hulk over the line.
They’ve already seen a loan bid rejected by Everton but were believed to be returning with a second offer, with it then claimed Tosun had given them encouragement.
NTV Spor now carry direct quotes from the striker, who told them “if Everton and Beşiktaş have an agreement, I am ready to wear the black and white jersey again.
“I would like to contribute to Beşiktaş until the end of the season. If Everton approves the transfer, it will not be a problem for me.”
They also state that the player has met with Besiktas management to discuss a move, hinting that he already has everything sorted with them ahead of a potential move.
It’s also claimed that Tosun wants regular playing time ahead of the European Championships in June, which is something we’ve seen before and is presumably pushing this late transfer turnaround for him after he said he wasn’t interested in returning to Turkey earlier this month.
