Yesterday, it was reported that Torino were making progress in their move for Everton’s Beto and approaching the finish line.
There was confidence that the striker had left Merseyside and was going to remain in Turin, as he awaits the transfer.
More updates have emerged about the Everton man today. TuttoSport, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, have reported that talks between the Italian side and the Toffees are indeed heating up.
The 26-year-old wants the move and a meeting between himself, his agent, Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati and manager Paolo Vanoli took place over the weekend.
Beto has been promised that he will have a key role to play in Torino’s season but the problem is presented by Everton’s demands.
Sean Dyche’s side want a package of €25m despite the fact that the striker is not a regular this season.
Torino have put forward an initial loan offer of a €3m loan and an obligation to buy based on certain conditions, which could see the entire deal reach €14m. This has been rejected by Everton, who want €5m as a loan fee.
The report indicates that Beto could put pressure on the Merseyside club.
At the same time, Gianluca di Marzio has reported that even though Torino are looking to sign Benfica’s Arthur Cabral, Everton will soon respond to their move for Beto and are considering their options as Armando Broja is currently injured.
It remains a developing situation and it doesn’t seem as if Torino are going to give up anytime soon.
