It’s time for more Hirving Lozano, and this time Calciomercato make the situation sound very stark for Napoli… which may be a good thing for Everton.

Gennaro Gattuso is said to have quickly made up his mind on the Mexican. He doesn’t see him as part of his ongoing plans at Napoli, and it’s thought forcing the pair to work together could have negative repercussions, both from a football management perspective as well as financially.

It’s feared forcing Gattuso to work with Lozano next season is only likely to see the player’s value fall further.

So Napoli need to sell, and they want to get as much of their €50m (transfer fee and commission) back as possible. The problem for them is there’s not much interest.

Everton are ‘currently the only team in the running’ to sign Lozano, and that’s being encouraged by Carlo Ancelotti. Sevilla have been linked, but Calciomercato say they’ve been informed the Spanish club think the transfer would cost too much.

That leaves Everton, and if they’re the only club in town then they can negotiate more easily on price and the structure of any deal.
