In the past few days, we’ve been covering reports from Portugal which covered Sporting Lisbon’s interest in Everton left-back Bryan Oviedo. Despite seeming optimistic about the transfer, the stories never mentioned the Toffees’ reaction to the approach, until Friday.
According to Friday’s edition of A Bola, Everton are asking €5m for the 26-year-old.
Sporting Lisbon are now trying to land the player on loan with an option to buy him at the end of the season.
The Costa Rican reportedly likes the possibility of playing in the Champions League, but just like reported before, Sporting Lisbon will only make an official bid after they sell Jefferson.
Oviedo has a contract with Everton until 2018. The player who signed from Copenhagen for €4.5m in 2012, but has struggled to hold down a place in the team since his bad injury.
Everton don’t have huge cover in the player’s position so if he was to move then it could signal someone else coming in.
