Everton have identified Salernitana star Boulaye Dia as a target to bolster their attack for the new season.
On Thursday, Tutto Salernitana stated the Toffees have asked for a meeting with the Serie A side’s director, Morgan De Sanctis, to talk about the striker.
TuttoMercatoWeb have relayed it and then state Everton have made an initial offer for €16m which was turned down by the Italian club.
It’s said the Merseyside club are ready to make another offer of cash plus Neil Maupay in exchange for the 26-year-old.
Tutto Salernitana journalist Luca Esposito spoke to TMW Radio, where he shared a fresh update on Everton’s pursuit of Dia.
According to Esposito, Sean Dyche’s side have ‘made an offer’ of €18-20m plus Maupay to sign the Senegal international. He adds the latter ‘will leave’ Salernitana this summer.
Dia hasn’t been training but another report from the same website states it has nothing to do with a potential transfer.
The player underwent a knee surgery a few weeks ago and hasn’t been fully fit just yet. Tutto Salernitana say he should start training under Paulo Sousa’s order in two to three days.
Dia managed 16 goals and six assists from 33 games last season.
