Everton have enjoyed a good start to the season, managing three wins in their first three matches and conceding only three goals in the process.

Carlo Ancelotti has already admitted the Toffees may have to bring in a new centre-back before the window closes after Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite picked up injuries.

According to Le10 Sport, the Merseyside club ‘insist’ on signing Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma.

The Blues are ready to listen to proposals for the Frenchman, after adding Thiago Silva to their squad in the ongoing window.

Zouma spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Goodison Park, and Everton ‘strongly insist’ to get the 25-year-old back to the club.

Ancelotti’s side, however, have to convince Chelsea and offer around €40m to secure the centre-back’s services.

Le10 adds ‘discussions between all parties are ongoing’, but there’s no clarity on whether or not Zouma can end up at Everton before the window closes on October 5th.

Zouma started in the first two league matches, but Frank Lampard left him out of the squad for Chelsea’s 3-3 draw against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
